The Emir of Kuwait moved quick to resolve the Gulf dispute due to his commitment to the Gulf Cooperation Council bloc’s unity, added the Kuwaiti official during his interview with the Kuwaiti channel. Al Jarallah said that the Kuwaiti Emir succeeded in calming the atmosphere, and not escalating the situation in the Gulf.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait noted the great role of the Emir in supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council, saying that the brothers in the GCC countries are aware of this role played by His Highness.
In response to a question whether the US planned to host Gulf leaders in a bid to resolve the dispute, he confirmed that there were attempts, but that so far no invitations have been sent.
However, Al-Jarallah said several prominent Gulf figures would be shortly visiting the US, amid moves which could pave the way for the convening of the summit.
The Kuwaiti official expressed his hope that this summit will be held, and the Gulf dispute will be ended. The region is facing great and very dangerous challenges, and “we will not be able to face these challenges individually,” he added.
