Live: China’s miraculous revival of the crested ibis
At one point, the entire world suspected the crested ibis had gone extinct… until one researcher found seven birds in a county called Yang in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. Nearly four decades later, the number of crested ibis in China has reached more than 2,000. It’s not many, but the miraculous rediscovery and revival of the species is a conservation success story. CGTN’s Tao Yuan travels to Yang County to find out how China’s researchers and conservationists have done it.
